    Get ready for the blues!

The fourth annual Burnaby Blues Festival comes to Deer Lake Park on Saturday, July 26 from 2 PM to 10 PM.

This year’s festival, sponsored by the city of Burnaby in association with Coastal Jazz & Blues Society, will feature six internationally acclaimed artists: Remy Shand, Wide Mouth Mason, Shemekia Copeland, Big Jack Johnson and The Oilers, Dr. Z and the MDs and The Twisters

These performers will showcase an eclectic mix of blues, R&B, soul, pop and funk. It will be a full day of hip-shaking music and fun for the entire family.

The stage is set for thousands of music fans to groove to some of the greatest blues and soul artists in the world as they perform over 8 hours of music at one of the most breathtaking locations in British Columbia.

Deer Lake Park, in the heart of Burnaby, is one of the most picturesque settings in the lower mainland with the lawns, south of the Shadbolt Centre for the Arts, sloping down towards the lake to form a natural amphitheater.

In addition, the site will feature interactive arts activities for the youngsters between 2-8 pm, souvenir and CD kiosks, a delectable variety of foods and a beer garden. With nonstop beats, gorgeous surroundings and fun activities for the kids, the Burnaby Blues Festival is an all-ages must-see event.

“The Burnaby Blues Festival is now in its fourth year, and on behalf of the Burnaby City Council and our terrific corporate partners, I want to let everyone know how excited we are to be hosting this annual festival in Burnaby's beautiful Deer Lake Park,” said Mayor Derek Corrigan of Burnaby. “The setting, the quality of the performers and the great community support are destined to make the 4th Annual Burnaby Blues Festival the finest yet. We welcome residents and visitors from near and far to join us Saturday, July 26 for a wonderful day of Burnaby hospitality. See you at the Burnaby Blues Festival--the cure for the summertime blues.”
