Get
ready for the blues!
The fourth annual
Burnaby Blues Festival comes to Deer Lake Park on Saturday,
July 26 from 2 PM to 10 PM.
This year’s
festival, sponsored by the city of Burnaby in association
with Coastal Jazz & Blues Society, will feature six
internationally acclaimed artists: Remy Shand, Wide Mouth
Mason, Shemekia Copeland, Big Jack Johnson and The Oilers, Dr. Z and the
MDs and The Twisters
These performers
will showcase an eclectic mix of blues, R&B, soul, pop and funk. It
will be a full day of hip-shaking music and fun for the entire family.
The stage is set
for thousands of music fans to groove to some of the greatest blues and
soul artists in the world as they perform over 8 hours of music at one
of the most breathtaking locations in British Columbia.
Deer Lake Park, in the heart of Burnaby, is one of the
most picturesque settings in the lower mainland with the lawns, south of
the Shadbolt Centre for the Arts, sloping down towards the lake to form
a natural amphitheater.
In addition, the
site will feature interactive arts activities for the youngsters
between 2-8 pm, souvenir and CD
kiosks, a delectable variety of foods and a beer garden. With nonstop
beats, gorgeous surroundings and fun activities for the kids, the
Burnaby Blues Festival is an all-ages must-see event.
